LEGO Masters plus Isolation = LEGO BOOM at eBay!

Millions of Aussies are watching LEGO Masters on Channel 9 and we’re all spending a heck of a lot of time at home. Those two factors have combined to lead to a staggering increase in sales of LEGO on eBay.

Three LEGO sets were sold every minute on eBay Australia during the debut of LEGO Masters on Sunday night.

Year on year Sales are up 64 percent with the LEGO Masters debut giving sales a 92 percent boost week on week.

Sophie Onikul from eBay Australia said, “With 11-million unique monthly visitors, eBay is the cultural barometer of Aussie buying behaviour.

“Right now LEGO® is in hot demand as people look for ways to beat the boredom of staying at home. And it’s not just kids, with more adults than ever getting involved. LEGO® Masters is further fuelling this trend and inspiring people to get creative at a time when they need it most.”

The most popular sellers are LEGO Town and City and LEGO Technic.

And for those looking to rebuilt older sets, there’s also an increase in LEGO instruction manuals.

If you want some perspective on all this – and some scale, over 350,000 LEGO sets were sold on eBay.com.au in the last 12 months – over $23 million in sales.

“As Australians adapt to their new normal, an increasing number of people are coming online to stock up on day-to-day necessities and new forms of in-home entertainment including LEGO®,”  says Onikul.

“With tens-of-thousands of LEGO® listings on ebay.com.au, eBay is the destination for LEGO fans to browse and shop a huge range all in the one place.”

So, get shopping, get building.
