Motorola returns to flagship phones with the Edge and Edge+

After concentrating on their mid-range line for a few years, Motorola has returned to flagship phones with the Motorola Edge+ announced overnight, as well as a more modest flagship style offering with the Motorola Edge.

The phones both include support for 5G, with the Motorola Edge+ using a Snapdragon 865 processor with the X55 5G modem, while the Motorola Edge has the Snapdragon 765 with built-in 5G. Motorola are positioning the Edge+ as a 5G powerhouse with the largest battery of any 5G phone on the market, and at this early stage of the 5G game, you need a big battery.

They still share a similar design with a 6.7-inch OLED Full HD+ resolution display that has a 90Hz refresh rate – though the Microsoft Edge+ gets a HDR10 certified display.

The Motorola Edge+ gets the full hardware treatment with 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage, while the Motorola Edge gets 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage – and the option to add microSD cards up to 1TB.

The camera on the phones also differ, with a massive 108MP sensor on the Edge+, with a 16MP ultrawide shooter and 8MP sensor with telephoto lens that includes 3x Optical zoom. The Motorola Edge gets a still impressive 64MP main sensor, and the same 16MP ultrawide and 8MP telephoto sensors on the rear as well.

A big note for audio fans is that both the Edge, and Edge+ still include the headphone jack.

Both phones come with massive batteries, with a 5,000mAh battery in the Edge+, while the Edge gets a slightly smaller 4,500mAh battery.
