Affordable OPPO A72 coming to Optus on June 9 for $299

Smartphone maker OPPO has today announced their latest A-series handset, the A72, will be available in Optus stores from June 9th for $299.

Announced in April, the OPPO A72 is an affordable powerhouse with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of on-board storage.

The design is also impressive with a crystal clear 6.5″ LTPS Neo Display which offers a 90.5% screen to body ratio packed into the 3D Quad-curve phone body which includes a massive 5,000mAh battery with a thickness of just 8.89mm.

The A72 comes with a 48MP main sensor with OPPO AI to offer the best settings for every shot, there’s also an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with 119˚ field of view, and a 2MP depth sensor and 2MP mono-chrome sensor as well. The A72 includes support for OPPO’s Ultra Night Mode 2.0 for low-light photography and of course a beauty mode

The phone comes in two colours – Twilight Black or Aurora Purple, and after years of black phones I’m still loving these transition colour options that are available.

In terms of software the A72 comes with Android 10 onboard with OPPO ColorOS 7.1 laid over the top.

Michael Tran, Managing Director at OPPO Australia said of the launch ‘Putting users at the centre of everything means we provide smartphones with high technical standards, comfortable physicality and great accessibility. The A72 ticks all the boxes users expect from a remarkable smartphone, offering users amazing value for money and an immersive experience.

The phone will be available in Optus stores and resellers from June 9th.
