Vivo X50 Pro launching in Australia for $999 – pre-order now

The second half of 2020 has ramped up with a range of new handsets hitting retailers, many sporting 5G support for our burgeoning networks. The latest is the Vivo X50 Pro which is now available to pre-order for $999 with the phone going on-sale August 20th.

For the basics, the phone has a 6.56-inch 3D Curved Ultra O display with 90Hz refresh rate for smooth transitions with a punch-hole notch featuring a 32MP selfie camera. The 5G compatible phone uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor and has 8GB RAM and 256GB of on-board storage.

The Vivo X50 Pro runs on a 4315mAh battery with 33W Flash Charge technology which can recharge up to 57% battery in 30 minutes.

The big feature for the X50 Pro is the camera with Fred Liu, Managing Director of vivo Australia saying “The X50 Pro is a professional photography smartphone for Aussies to record and share the best moments of their lives in a simple way.”

The X50 Pro features what Vivo are calling a ‘professional-grade gimbal camera technology’ that uses a double-ball suspension mount for the 48MP main rear camera, which can ‘tracks objects, or pivots back into place when you hit reset’ – all of which means you get a steady shot whether you’re walking to skateboarding and awesome low-light shots with the shutter able to stay open longer.

The main camera is backed up by a 8MP sensor with 120° Super Wide-Angle lens, a 13MP Professional Portrait, and 8MP sensor with 5x Telescopic lens that supports hybrid zoom up to 60x.

It’s a big launch for vivo with the X50 Pro their first 5G smartphone launched in Australia. Mr Liu said “we have seen great success in other markets and expect for the vivo X50 Pro to become an iconic device here in Australia”.

Pre-orders are live now on the JB Hi-Fi, Big W and Mobileciti websites, with Officeworks expected to go live as well. You can also check out the Vivo Australia website.

Pre-orders placed online from today until launch day on August 20th will receive a bonus Fitbit Versa 2TM Fitness Smartwatch valued at $329.
