Ryan Story and Ford Australia donate iconic Mustang for Auction – proceeds to Camp Quality

As an Ambassador for Camp Quality, DJR Team Penske boss Ryan Story has done some great things to raise money and awareness, but boy oh boy this is a cracker.

The Ford Mustang is one of the most iconic sports cars in the world, ever. And here in Australia it’s been the top selling sports car year after year since it’s re-entry here into the market.

In 2018, DJR Team Penske along with Ford Performance Racing in the USA built and engineered a new Supercar, the Mustang for the Aussie Supercars championship.

To celebrate that cars first race at the Adelaide 500 that year, a Nascar Mustang, Supercar Mustang and Road-registered Mustang GT did speed tests as demonstrations at the event. You know the ones, road car goes, then supercar, then Nascar hoping they all cross the line at the same time after the handicapped start.

That road-going Mustang started it’s life as a Press car, used by reviewers to sample what the Mustang offered, before being stickered up for the event.

Ryan Story has convinced Ford to donate the car for charity, and the Auction is happening at Shannons.

The Auction ends Wednesday 28th October 7.00pm, you’ll expect to pay at least $55k for the car, so – get ready.

And the best news – ALL the proceeds go to Camp Quality.
