In a year as shocking as 2020 we’ve needed our entertainment haven’t we? So this award recognises the importance of those services that offer us the entertainment we need.
From Lego Masters and The Block, through to Netflix, Stan, Amazon Prime, Disney whatever you watch – thank goodness for the escape.
The reason we’ve chosen Stan? Yellowstone, Billions, lately Gangs of London and Your Honor still to come!
Because taste in shows is subjective, there’s something else. And this is very personal to us here at EFTM. When Melbourne looked set to endure weeks of lockdown, I offered to buy Stan subscriptions for our readers in Melbourne.
It felt nice to do something for someone in such a terrible circumstance. Unfortunately, the Stan voucher system didn’t like me buying more than 10 at a time.
Stan CEO Mike Sneesby didn’t flinch at offering voucher codes for us to use. And he wanted no publicity for Stan or the process. We gave out a couple of hundred vouchers, and I think Stan and Mike for that. It’s a simple gesture that impacted lots of people’s lives – Aussies supporting Aussies is what 2020 needed, so we give you thanks.
If you haven’t tried Stan – you need to get on it, SO MUCH to watch, we love it.
