Philips new Sonicare 9900 Prestige toothbrush can adjust automatically when you brush too hard

At CES 2021, Philips have announced their most advanced electric toothbrush yet, with the Sonicare 9900 Prestige launching with SenseIQ.

SenseIQ uses on-board sensors in the toothbrush which can sense your brushing style including when you apply too much pressure. Philips says most of us apply too much pressure while brushing, and the Sonicare 9900 Prestige can automatically adjust for this when you push too hard.

The Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige also includes a premium all-in-one brush head, which provides flex to aid in the ability to adjust pressure. Philips also says the new head has angled bristles which they say can ‘help remove up to 20x more plaque’.

The toothbrush will connect to your smartphone through the Philips Sonicare app to both track your brushing, and also analyse it with AI which can provide ‘real-time guidance on pressure, motion, position, duration and frequency of brushing’.

The app will also offer daily, weekly, monthly or yearly reports and  offering personalised recommendations and ways you can brush better.

For charging you’ll likely get the usual charging pad, but you also get a charging case covered in soft-touch vegan leather to take it on the go with you. The case includes an integrated USB-C port and a USB charging cable so you can easily recharge the toothbrush inside it.

Philips hasn’t announced when you’ll be able to get your hands on the Sonicare 9900 Prestige electric toothbrush, nor how much it will be when it does arrive but we’ll let you know when they announce anything.

EFTM’s coverage of CES 2021 is supported by Hisense, Samsung and Powered by Telstra’s 5G
