The D-Link COVR AX1800 Mesh Wi-Fi 6 system is now available in Australia

Last week at CES2021 D-Link announced their new Wi-Fi 6 mesh router systems. At that time they could only tell us availability dates for the US but we were told that they aim to release the new products here “as they become available”. True to their word they have today announced that one of them is available here in Australia now.

Starting today the D-Link COVR AX1800 mesh Wi-Fi 6 system is available to purchase from D-Link and from various retailers.

The COVR AX1800 mesh system combines a “unique modern form factor” with the latest in Wi-Fi 6 technology promising to provide an increase in capacity, speed and range over your older Wi-fi products.

Many households are now benefiting from the advantage of increased speed and coverage of mesh systems and the AX1800 from D-Link promises even better speed and coverage. A three pack of AX1800 points working together is designed to provide complete coverage to homes up to 740 square metres.

The COVR AX1800 Mesh Wi-Fi systems are available in a single, dual and triple pack with the code numbers for each COVR-X1870, COVR-X1872 and COVR-X1873 respectively. You can start with a single or dual point and add on as many as you want as you go — there is no limit.

As you would expect in a modern mesh system there is WPA3 security support allowing for secure authentication throughout the entire mesh network. D-Link have also included their Smart Steering technology which will automatically direct the traffic from your device to the optimum wireless band at that point based on current network traffic.

If you have Ethernet points throughout your house you can also use these points plugged into the AX1800 points to provide improved backhaul connectivity. Of course, like nearly every tech product these days there is support for digital assistant control using Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

The entire COVR AX1800 range is available now from D-Link AU and D-Link NZ and from authorised D-Link partners and retailers for the following prices:

  • COVR-X1873 (3-Pack) – AU$549.95, NZ$599.99
  • COVR-X1872 (2-Pack) – AU399.95, NZ$499.99
  • COVR-X1870 (Router/ Add-On Point) – AU$249.95, NZ$279.99

If you are looking for a new mesh system with all the latest technology the D-Link AX1800 system may be worth checking out.
