Motorola bolsters budget phone range with new Moto E and Moto G models

Motorola Australia is building out their budget range with the launch of four new E-Series and G-series Moto smartphones, all for under $300. 

The phones cross Motorola’s budget E-Series, and their best selling G-Series phones, with the Moto E7 and E7 Power offering excellent value, while the Moto G10 and G30 offer more hardware at a higher price range. 

Moto E

At the very entry level, Motorola is launching the Moto E7 and Moto E7 Power at $159 and $199 respectively. Motorola says that the E7 Power is focused on power thanks to a large 5,000mAh battery which promises 2-day battery life, while the standard Moto E7 is more focused on camera with a 48MP quad-camera on the rear, though it still has a battery capable of up to 36-hours of battery life.

Both moto e phones will be launching with Android 10 running MyUX. Motorola has said you’ll get 2 years of security updates, but hasn’t advised on any feature updates to Android 11, so this one may be a sticking point for some people.

Motorola says they’ll be bringing the moto E7 to Australia in Mineral Grey, while the Moto e7 Power will launch in Tahiti Blue and Coral Red.

Moto G

The Moto G line has long been Motorola’s most popular, selling over 125 million units in just eight years – 25 million of those in the last 12 months alone. For the 10th generation of the Moto G, Motorola is continuing their focus on meaningful innovation and making new technology more accessible for more people.

The launch this time around includes the moto g10 and moto g30, both feature rich phones which Motorola is pricing at $249 and $299 respectively.

The Moto G10 includes an ‘industry leading’ 48MP main camera with impressive Night Vision, as well as ultra-wide camera and generous battery life up to 2 days between charges.

For those wanting a little more, the Moto G30 takes the G10 and takes it to another level with a 64MP quad-camera system that captures brighter, sharper images and also includes vivid night photos and ultra-wide lens to capture more of your shot.

The moto g10 and moto g30 will be launching with Android 11 running the Moto UX software which includes the chop gesture for quickly launching the flashlight, or twist for camera and a new one – swipe to split screen.

Just like the moto e series, the moto g phones will both receive the same two years of security updates, with updates rolled into 60-day bundles.

In terms of design, Motorola will bring the moto g10 to Australia in either Aurora Grey or Sakura Pearl.

For those looking at the Moto g30, Motorola will offer it in Phantom Black and Pastel Sky colour options.

Availability

All four phones will be available to pre-order form today and for purchase from April 1st. From a brief look at some online retailers though, you could be waiting until the 8th of April for your stock.

Where can you buy them? The different models will be available at various bricks and mortar, as well as online retailers. Motorola also says that the moto e7 power and moto g10 will be heading to Vodafone though no details are available just yet. :
