ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 and S17 gaming laptops announcd with new 11th gen Intel H-series processors

Gamers are getting a treat today with the announcement of new ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 and Zephyrus S17 gaming laptops overnight running the new 11th gen Intel H-series processors which were announced overnight. 

The new 11th gen Intel H-series processors are designed to power the next generation of gaming laptops. There’s a range of improvements on the new “Tiger Lake-H” processors with support for up to 44 total PCIe lanes, Thunderbolt 4 support with transfer speeds up to 40Gbps and more. 

Both the Zephyrus M16 and Zephyrus S17 will be offered with options up to the Intel 11th Gen Core i9-11900H processor, with Nvidia RTX-30-series Graphics available as well. 

Zephyrus M16

With the Zephyrus M16, ASUS hopes to entice both gamers and content creators with the powerful combination of the new 11th Gen Intel processors, GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop graphics and a spacious 16-inch display. 

The 16-inch IPS display has a WQHD (2560×1600) resolution in 16:10 aspect ratio with 165Hz refresh rate and 3ms response. The panel is also Pantone validated with DCI-P3 and features support for Dolby Vision as well. 

Zephyrus M16

The laptop will be offered with up to 2TB of on-board storage and up to 48GB of DDR4 3200MHz RAM and 90Wh battery which can offer up to 10 hours of video playback and it also supports Fast Charge technology. 

Sound hasn’t been forgotten on the M16 with six speakers on board with dual force-canceling woofers that support Dolby Atmos surround sound, and there’s also a 3D mic array for crystal clear audio capture. 

The laptop weighs in at 1.9kg, and slides in at just 19.9mm thin and comes with all the ASUS ROG design flair you’d expect including ‘Off Black tint and lustrous Prismatic Film visible through CNC-milled perforations’. ASUS has also included an RGB keyboard on the laptop, 

Zephyrus S17

If you’re wanting a more premium model, the Zephyrus S17 is the latest laptop to enter the ASUS ROG lineup offering a larger 17-inch display that also includes a rising optical mechanical keyboard which offers improved cooling.

The 17.3-inch display will be available in either a UHD resolution with 120Hz refresh rate, or QHD resolution with 165Hz refresh and 3ms response rate. The IPS panel includes minimal bezels around the top and sides, though ASUS has included a webcam at the top of the screen. 

ASUS will be offering the Zephyrus S17 with options up to an Intel Core i9-11900H processor, 48GB of RAM, and up to an Nvidia RTX 3080 with 16GB of VRAM. You’ll also be able to include RAID0 support with options to configure the laptop with up to 3x M.2 NVMe PCIe G4x4 1TB/2TB SSDs.

The S17 includes a 90W battery just like the M16, and also supports fast charge with ASUS promising you’ll be able to recharge to 50% capacity in just 30 minutes. 

ASUS will also be including a six-speaker system with Dolby Atmos support on the S17 and an array mic for great sound quality.

Availability

ASUS hasn’t announced pricing or availability for either the Zephyrus M16 or Zephyrus S17 anywhere as yet, however they have confirmed that they’ll both be coming to Australia. ASUS Australia has advised they’ll share details on dates and pricing closer to the local launch.
