Dell announces updates to all the things, including laptops and desktops

We have seen a few laptop announcements in the past few weeks and now it is Dell’s turn to announce a swathe of updates to not just nearly all of their laptop categories but their desktops too. Alienware, G15, XPS, Latitude, Precision and OptiPlex have all seen updates to their lines with Dell focusing on three primary areas with the new devices — Create, Play and Do.

CREATE

A lot of us are creating on the go these days and with remote workplaces now the normal it seems obvious that manufacturers are updating their devices to support this. Whether you are new to the content creation or an already established professional Dell’s new line up has something for you.

Dell have updated their Precision 5560, Precision 5760, XPS 15 and XPS 17 devices with the latest 11^th Gen Intel® Core™ processors and Xeon mobile processors with colour accurate Infinity Edge displays and a new OLED version for the XPS 15.

You can be sure it will be possible to pump out some high-end graphics with these devices with some featuring the latest NVIDIA RTX graphics chipsets. The NVIDIA RTX A5000 laptop GPUs are designed to allow heavy workloads such as 8J HDR video editing along with 3D simulations — the Precision 7000 Series mobile workstations are designed specifically to accomplish this type of workload with ease, along with now including 5G connectivity options.

These new devices will be available in early Winter here in Australia.

PLAY

When it comes to gameplay Dell have long used their G series and Alienware platforms to show off the best they offer, and it is no different with the new releases. As you would expect Dell are updating the Alienware m15 R6 and Dell G15 gaming systems to the new 11^th Gen Intel® Core™ H-series mobile processors and the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series laptop GPUs giving consumers faster, more immersive experiences when gaming.

Dell have also announced an entirely new series, the Alienware X Series, bringing together their 25 years of experience in the gaming PC category along with an aggressive form factor, iconic design, and impressive performance.

Not arriving until later this Winter, the Alienware X Series will include new proprietary thermal technologies in the thinnest gaming laptops ever made by Dell. With so many new technologies on board Dell will give the X Series its own announcement on June 1 — stay tuned for that.

DO

This focus is all about hybrid workflows — just getting the job done in everyday life and work, new business PCs with “intelligence, collaboration and connectivity in mind”. As part of this the new line of OptiPlex PCs has been updated with the latest 11^th Gen Intel® Core™ processors along with graphics updates as well. Other updates include 3200MHz memory, Thunderbolt 4 and 5G capabilities across Latitude, Precision and XPS devices.

Non-PC devices that have been updated here include the new Dell 32 4K USB-C Hub Monitor and the Dell Premier Wireless ANC headset to allow you to easily work from home and still easily collaborate with people around the world.
