There’s a lot of interest in the upcoming new Wear OS announced by Google and Samsung at IO last month. The new OS, which combines both Fitbit integration and Samsung’s Tizen OS is expected to launch first on the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 4, and now renders, colour info and sizing has leaked.
The renders, from Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka @OnLeaks) and shared by GizNext, show the latest design in four color options including black, silver, green, and gold, with matching straps.
The report says that the watch will have an aluminium body and come in two sizes, 40mm and 44mm, with Samsung going for the slightly larger size over their previous 42mm models.
According to GizNext, the watch will have simple 2D glass on the watch face, with a 5nm – presumably Exynos – processor powering the watch. There’s also a new design for the fastener mechanism on the rubberised band, which also fits the lugs closer to the body more snugly.
The launch date for the watch is unclear. Leaker Jon Prosser has suggested the 11th of August, while Samsung themselves will ‘unveil a new era of smart watch experiences’ at MWC – which will be streamed live on YouTube this week. We’ll be watching the Samsung announcements, and bring you any developments.
