ECOVACS trickle down their high-end features to the new more affordable DEEBOT N8 PRO

You get what you pay for is the age-old adage but more and more these days we are seeing features of high-end equipment appear on more affordable products. Today ECOVACS has announced a new robot vacuum that delivers some of their premium features at this lower price bracket.

The new DEEBOT N8 PRO brings their TrueDetect 3D object detection technology, TrueMapping mapping and navigation technology and the ability to vacuum and mop at the same time. All of these new features are included for $799 compared to a price north of a thousand dollars which you’d normally pay for this feature set.

The DEEBOT N8 PRO delivers strong suction without the high noise you’d expect from 2600Pa of power while at the same time using an electronically controlled water pump and water tank to enable mopping of the floor immediately after it has been vacuumed.

The DEEBOT N8 PRO epitomises our determination to change people’s minds and break down notions of what is possible. It delivers premium features that not long ago were seen on our high-end products, in a package that is more affordable than ever before,” says Karen Powell, Head of ECOVACS ROBOTICS in Australia and New Zealand.

The TrueDetect 3D technology is one of our favourite DEEBOT features and is the ability of the vacuum to scan its surroundings and detect any obstacles to its vacuuming/mopping. It can thus avoid collisions and getting stuck or tangled on any objects such as small toys, cords or cables.

The headline feature included in the DEEBOT N8 PRO is the TrueMapping laser-based mapping and navigation technology which can create custom floor maps of your rooms to enable you to decide/choose which floors to clean and in what order. You can use this technology to also create virtual boundaries to keep the vacuum away from certain areas you don’t want it to go onto — eg. an extremely plush rug. Just want it to clean the kitchen after baking? Draw over that area in the ECOVACS Home app and instruct it to just clean that area and it will be done.

Virtual boundary

As with so many appliances these days there is support for both Amazon Alexa and Google Home along with many more features within the ECOVACS app.

The DEEBOT N8 PRO is available from the 20th of July 2021 with an RRP of $799 from Godfreys, JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys. The associated Auto Empty Station is available separately now with an RRP of $399 from Godfreys, JB Hi-Fi and Amazon AU and eBay AU. For more information head on over to the ECOVACS website.
