I can count in hours the time since Vegemite announced their shocking Christmas Jumper, and today KFC jump on board with their own Kentucky Fried version.
Available for $59.95 – KFC’s red and white number fits into their Christmas in July theme with Buckets also carrying the Christmas branding.
All profits from the jumpers go to charity partners of KFC, including Whitelion, ReachOut and the Black Dog Institute.
Boss of Marketing at KFC Kristi Woolrych said: “We know that Aussies love any excuse to connect with their mates, so there’s no better reason this winter than celebrating Christmas in July. To give Aussies the cozy Christmas only the Northern hemisphere indulges in each December, we’re bringing everything our fans need to enjoy it to the full this July. From the limited-edition festive jumpers you couldn’t rock mid-summer to our very own Christmas in July Feast (with free delivery on the KFC App, may I add), and a twist on a classic Christmas song to get you singing along, we’ve well and truly stuffed stockings full with goodies to help bring the joy this winter!”
KFC have also partnered with “carolling legends”, Aussie Rock Band Dune Rats.
It’s not bad, catchy, traditional with a touch of rock. The video might leave you wincing because it’s like watching a strobe light show.
For those who don’t know, there’s delivery options now for KFC, so even in lockdown you can enjoy some of the fine chook with the secret herbs and spices.
