Microsoft has announced a Halo themed Xbox Series X and Halo Infinite Limited Edition controller

Microsoft has announced a new limited edition Halo themed Xbox Series X during the GamesCom announcements overnight, as well as a Halo Infinite Limited Edition Elite Series 2 controller.

The Halo themed Xbox is launching as a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the series which has become synonymous with the Xbox platform. The console launches on November 15th in Australia for $849. The Halo Infinte themed limited edition Elite controller also launches on November 15th, and is an eye-watering $249.95, though offers all the features of the Elite V2 controller.

The Halo themed Xbox includes dark metallic paneling accented by iridium gold and a custom star pattern imprinted on the console, as seen from the surface of Zeta Halo. Microsoft has also changed the green highlights on the vent to blue as a nod to Cortana, and powers on and off with custom Halo-themed sounds.

The console includes a digital copy of Halo Infinite, with the release date of the game pegged as December 8th.

The Halo Infinite Limited Edition Elite Series 2 has a Master Chief inspired design with ‘a battle-worn, matte metallic green with an iridium gold D-pad and comes with an arsenal of swappable components and a custom carrying case emblazoned with the iconic UNSC insignia’.

Just like the Xbox Series X, the Halo themed edition is extremely hard to get a hold of with pre-orders already sold out through Microsoft and JB Hifi. The Halo Infinite Limited Edition Elite Series 2 can be pre-ordered now directly through Microsoft online.
