Telstra change their network name to include #LetsVaxx and offer incentives for vaccinated customers

At the beginning of last year none of us would have thought that 18 months later we would still be in the midst of a pandemic. But here we are in August 2021 and for various reasons it seems that the only way out of it, and current predicament we are in, is for a vast majority of us to be vaccinated. Telstra are doing their best to encourage their customers to get vaccinated with a range of incentives and reminders.

From today Telstra customers with compatible mobile devices connected to the Telstra network will see the network name change to “Telstra LetsVaxx“, hoping to encourage user to get vaccinated as soon as they are eligible. Users with compatible mobiles will see this reminder every time they look at their phone.

Telstra are also offering bonus Telstra Plus points with fully vaccinated members receiving 2,500 points. Not only that but when Telstra Plus members claim their points they will go into the draw to win one of five shares of 100 million total points along with $3,500 credit to cover the cost of their Telstra services for a year.

Other new offers for Telstra Plus members, regardless of their vaccination status, will receive a digital care package including a Telstra TV Box Office movie, discounts on food delivery and access to discount sin the Telstra Plus rewards store.

Other vaccination help Telstra is offering includes a social media campaign to “bust conspiracy theories” around COVID-19 vaccinations. You can see that below:

It is great to see companies offering incentives for people to get vaccinated and while they shouldn’t have to it is what it is. Hopefully sometime soon we can hit the vaccination rate that allows us to live our lives just as we did in 2019.
