OPPO announce the latest member of their A series, the A16s: Looks and performance in an entry-level price

OPPO has a large range of phones across the entire market in every section of every segment. Today they have announced a new addition to their A series of smartphones, the A16s, promising performance and looks at an attractive price.

The OPPO A16s comes in a range of finishes with the rear providing a shimmering and premium look due to its interaction with light from different angles. The two finishes includes are a Crystal Black and a Pearl Blue. The 8.4mm thin phone has curved edges to fit comfortably in the hand while weighing just 190 grams.

The display is a decent 6.52 inches and is designed to be easy on the eyes whatever time of the day it is used. The display uses adaptive brightness to allow the display to adapt to your surroundings as you use it. The fingerprint sensor is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor with added support for OPPO’s market-leading face unlock as fast as ever.

The A16s houses a triple rear camera system with a 13MP main camera, a 2MP depth camera and a 2MP macro camera which promises to provide good imaging in a range of scenarios. The front camera is an 8MP camera allowing for some great selfies. Add in AI-powered Dazzle Colour Mode software which automatically changes colour saturation and contrast ratios and you should have some decent quality images.

Other features included are a large 5,000mAh battery with power saving options to make that huge battery last even longer: Super Night-time Standby, Super Power Saving Mode, Optimised Overnight Charging and Smart Temperature Control. With IPX4 waterproofing, extensive durability tests and a Private Safe and App Lock parents can feel safe giving the device to their kids.

Speaking of the new device launch, Michael Tran, OPPO Australia’s Managing Director, said,“the A16s was designed by taking into account the same considerations that we do for our flagship devices, as we believe in creating modern, reliable tech that’s accessible to all. It’s important to us that we can offer Australians devices that stand-out.  Which is why the A16s doesn’t compromise either looks or performance, with premium finishes, a powerful AI triple camera and several optimisation features.”
