Android 12 on its way to Australian OPPO smartphones

For those Android users, it can often be a trying time waiting for the next major version of Android to land on your phone. You see everyone else with newer phones or other brands playing with the new features and feel like you are missing out.

For OPPO users out there soon that will no longer be you with OPPO providing EFTM with a timeframe for the release of Android 12 (and ColorOS 12 — their Android 12 skin) to most of their devices in the market today. Having started rolling out to their flagship device the Find X3 Pro last December the rollout is as follows:

  • From December 2021: Find X3 Pro
  • First Half of 2022: Find X3 Neo, Find X3 Lite, Find X2 Pro, FInd X2 Neo, Find X2 Lite, Reno4 5g, Reno4 Pro 5G, Reno4 Z 5G, Reno 10x Zoom, A94 5G, A74 5G
  • Second Half of 2022: A74, A53, A53s, A16s, A54s

That seems to cover every device released by OPPO in the last two years. OPPO has struggled providing updates for their devices in recent years, so it is great to see that changing now with them providing this form of “certainty” and timelines for their smartphones.

If you have any of the above smartphones keep an eye out for Android 12 in the form of their ColorOS 12 arriving on your phone soon.
