Google Pixel Buds Pro and Pixel 6a are launching July 28 – pre-orders now open

Google’s next round of hardware is available to pre-order in Australia from today, with the Pixel 6a and Pixel Buds Pro announced at Google I/O back in May and are  due to launch in-store and online on July 28th.

Pixel 6a

The Pixel 6a is their latest mid-range handset offering the new signature Pixel look with horizontal camera bar and running the new Google developed Tensor Processor.

The phone is priced at $749 and comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of on-board storage. The phone is being offered in three colours: Sage, Chalk (White) and Charcoal (Black).

The camera bar on the rear includes a familiar dual rear camera setup containing  a 12.2MP main sensor and 12MP Ultra-Wide with a 114°  field of view, while on the front you’ll find an 8MP sensor in a punch hole notch in the 6.1” OLED display.

The Pixel 6a will launch with Android 12, but will quickly be updated to Android 13 when it launches in the coming months, and you’ll be kept up to date with 5 years of security updates included.

Pixel Buds Pro

Launching their fourth generation of Pixel Buds, Google has gone premium for the Pixel Buds Pro with the inclusion of a number of highly anticipated features including Active Noise Cancellation (ANC),transparency mode, noise suppression and multi-device connectivity.

Priced at $299, the Pixel Buds Pro will be offered in a two tone design with a black base and  three colours options: Charcoal , Fog and Lemon Grass.

The buds include touch controls such as swiping up or down for volume control, answering calls or playing/pausing music and of course fast access to the Google Assistant.

The buds will last up to 7 hours using ANC, and come in a white charging case similar to previous generations which will keep the buds protected and charged when not in use. The case also offers the option to charge via USB-C or wireless Qi charging.

The Pixel Buids Pro include 11mm custom drivers for audio and advanced external noise suppression thanks to three microphones that include wind guard mesh to drop out any breeze while you speak. Google has also included vents to relieve air pressure with an additional sensor able to actively relieve this as it occurs.
