Here is the Samsung Galaxy Watch5, set to be announced at Galaxy Unpacked on August 10

Samsung is set to announce a new Galaxy smartwatch alongside new foldables at the Galaxy Unpacked event on August 10. The new Galaxy Watch5 is expected to come in a standard version and a classic version (this year apparently called the “Pro”) once again. Today 91mobiles have revealed renders of the Galaxy Watch5 that show that the new smartwatch will differ little from the 2021 Galaxy Watch4.

The renders show off the Watch5 in various colours along with a near-identical design to the Watch4. The front shows a bezel around the outside of the watch face, and two buttons on the right-hand side of the watch face once again. A new “feature” is a hole between the buttons on the right-hand side of the watch. What this is for is unknown but likely to be some form of microphone given that the microphone that sits underneath on the Watch4 is absent on these renders.

The rear of the Watch5 shows a new sensor to the left of the main sensors. This means that the new Galaxy Watch5 will most likely perform some extra health function — there is a rumour of a glucose monitoring function as seen within the new Samsung Health Monitor app but I am incredibly sceptical about that.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 is expected to once again arrive in two distinct sizes along with two different versions — the standard and the Pro. Different versions will also appear for Bluetooth support and LTE+Bluetooth support watches. The Galaxy Watch5 is expected to run WearOS 3.5 with Samsung’s One UI Watch 4.5 over the top.

All will be revealed late in the evening on August 10 at Samsung’s Unpacked event. Stay tuned to EFTM for all the hardware details along with local availability and pricings.
