Asus launch a full lifestyle range of OLED laptops, including a 17-inch foldable

Asus has announced its latest lifestyle line-up, all soon to be available in Australia. Every device announced is available in an OLED display making the range “the most comprehensive line-up of OLED devices available on the market.”

Asus has shown that the move into OLED laptops are the forefront of its future with the benefits to the customer of the OLED displays five-fold. The five reasons to choose an OLED display, according to Asus, are:

  • 100% DCI-P3 in-class colour gamut (vivid displays)
  • 70% less harmful blue light
  • 120Hz/0.2ms ultimate motion clarity — blur-free action
  • True blacks in the image
  • Clearer image at any brightness (a lower brightness does not affect detail)

The new devices are across the entire range and include:

  • Zenbook 17 Fold OLED | Pricing and local availability coming soon
  • Zenbook 14X OLED Space Edition (UX5401ZAS) | $2,499 | Available now
  • Zenbook 14 OLED | From $1,899 (UX3402ZA) | OLED model available soon; non-OLED, non-touch IPS version available now
  • Zenbook Pro 16X OLED (UX7602ZM) | Pricing and local availability to come soon
  • Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED (UX8402ZE) | $3,799 | Available from beginning of September

The star of the show is the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED, the world’s first 17.3-inch foldable OLED laptop. The large foldable allows for use of the display in two way, as a large 4:3 17.3-inch 2.5k touch screen (with the included Bluetooth keyboard) or folded in the middle to give two seamless 3:2 12.5-inch 1280P displays. The foldable thus allows for use as a PC, laptop, tablet, on-screen keyboard and book.

Powered by the latest 12th generation Intel Core i7 U-Series processors, Intel Iris Xe graphics it includes two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports for charging and more.

The Zenbook 14X OLED Space Edition is a special edition laptop to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Asus sending a laptop into space for 600 days. It has a space-themed design and includes ZenVision, a 3.5-inch OLED display on the top outside lid of the display which can show custom messages and animations such as “Do not disturb, in a meeting.”

The Zenbook 14X OLED Space Edition is powered by up to a 12th generation Intel Core i7 H-Series processor, 32GB of RAM, four PCIe 4.0 SSDs and Intel Wi-Fi 6e. The 16:10 2.8K 90 Hz OLED display is once again a high-quality display supporting 100% DCI-P3.

The Zenbook 14 OLED (UX3402ZA) is their more affordable OLED laptop with a 14-inch display and is available in Aqua Celadon and Ponder Blue. Not only does it include the 16:10 2.8K 90 Hz OLED display but also a Harman Kardon-certified sound system with a smart amplifier for improved sound. Offering the same specs as the Space Edition above, it is just 16.9mm thick and weighs in at just 1.39kg.

The Zenbook Pro 16X OLED (UX7602) is for the more advanced creator with this uncompromising laptop offering NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics to power its OLED display. It also includes an Asus Dial for fine tuning in graphics programs along with an enlarged touchpad with haptic feedback.

The all-new Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED (UX8402) is more compact laptop with a 14.5-inch 2.8K OLED display AND a secondary ScreenPad Plus touchscreen above the keyboard. The specs offer high end performance with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050Ti graphics and Intel Core i7 chipsets. At ,799 it is for the more discerning creator who likes to be able to easily take their work with them.
