Microsoft announces cheaper, configurable Elite 2 – Core series Xbox controller

Microsoft have announced a new version of the pro-level Elite 2 controller, with a newer, cheaper model called the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Core in white, as well as a price drop on their regular Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2.

The new “Core” series Xbox Elite controller will cost AU$189.95 and comes as a bare-bones version of the Elite Series 2. The Core controller will still come with a USB cable and Thumbstick tensioning tool, but will remove additional items like the mini and medium paddles, additional thumbsticks, additional D-Pad, as well as the Charging Dock and Carrying case. 

The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Core in white will be upgradeable, with all the missing items available to purchase in a ‘Core Component Pack’ for AU$79.95

The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Core in white and Core Component Pack are both available to pre-order from today, with the controller due to arrive in stores from September 21st while the Core Component Pack will be available from October 5th..
