Smart home company Aqara is now available in-store at JB Hi-Fi

A few months ago we tested out the new Aqara Camera Hub G3, which looked strange but offered a host of features not often found in a single camera. At the time it, and other Aqara smart home products were only available online but now Aqara have entered a partnership with JB Hi-Fi so now you can head into your good old-fashioned bricks and mortar store and check them out before purchasing.

Although it is new to Australia, Aqara is not a new name to smart home users worldwide with over five million users with compatibility with all of your favourite digital assistants and ecosystems such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit.

The new partnership with JB Hi-Fi means that now you can get your hand on these products and check them out alongside similar products before parting ways with your hard-earned money. From today you will be able to get these following Aqara products from JB Hi-Fi:

  • Camera Hub G3 – A video camera with facial and gesture recognition and 2K resolution — see our review here.
  • Hub M2 – A smart home control centre can supports interaction and connection with Aqara Zigbee accessories and other IR-enabled devices.
  • Hub E1 – Aqara’s smallest yet most powerful USB-A powered smart home hub.
  • Roller Shade Driver E1 – An easily installed retrofit roller shade controller. It can run both wirelessly from the built-in battery or be plugged into a power supply via the provided USB Type-C cable.

“We’ve seen an amazing response to Aqara products from Aussies online. Partnering with JB HI-FI is an exciting next step, with retail giving shoppers the chance to have a play before they buy,” says Aqara’s business development manager Mark Berahmand.

Aqara offers premium products and features at an affordable price point, something that everyone wants in these trying times of high inflation. Berahmand adds, “We know the cost of smart products is a barrier for many people, along with installation worries. Our products are made for DIYers – there are no screws or wiring needed for most of our devices.”

Those looking to the future will be happy to learn that Aqara will be bringing Matter support to their existing Zigbee-based products via and OTA update. When building a smart home future and cross compatibility is important so it is good to see Aqara are focused on providing just that.

To check out all the Aqara products head into your local JB Hi-Fi store.
