First unofficial renders of Pixel Fold emerge along with rumoured pricing

The long rumoured foldable Pixel phone from Google has surfaced, this time with renders in tow. Host of the Front Page Tech YouTube channel, Jon Prosser, has shown off the Pixel Fold and shared details on some specs and an eye-watering price.

The leaker has a bit of a history with Google leaks, leaking the Pixel Watch and Pixel 6 series previously. The leak of the Pixel Fold starts with the device in a promo like video on his YouTube channel as well as renders of the phone in Chalk (White) and Obsidian (Black).

The design of the Pixel Fold will be more along the lines of the Galaxy Fold or Huawei Mate X than a flip style phone like the Galaxy Z Flip or Moto Razr.

The Pixel Fold, or ‘Passport’ as it’s known internally, has a hinged design and is made of premium materials that include metal and glass. The design includes both a front display with 9.5MP front-facing camera in a punch hole notch, with a re-designed Pixel camera bar on the rear. The internal display when folded out has a significant bezel around the sides and top, with another 9.5MP camera sensor incorporated into the bezel.

The phone will have speakers at the top and bottom of the phone with USB-C at the bottom and power and volume buttons on the side of the phone. The power button will reportedly include a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication – and the Pixel Fold will also include mmWave 5G.

Now, if you’re excited for the Pixel Fold, the price will be an eye-watering

,799USD – that’s 78AUD and is apparently due to be released alongside the Pixel Tablet in May, most likely at Google I/O. If you want to watch the full episode about the Pixel Fold, you can check it out here
