Budget friendly OPPO A17 arrives in Australia from today with flagship features

OPPO have today announced they’re expanding their budget range in Australia with the launch of the OPPO A17 with a 50MP AI camera and all-day battery life.

The OPPO A17 has a super slim design which is just 8.29mm thin and weighs just 189 grams and comes in two colour options: Lake Blue and Midnight Black, which is offered with a faux leather material on the rear offering a fresh, premium aesthetic that should feel great in your hand.

There’s plenty of power with a MediaTek Helio G35 Mobile processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage (with microSD Card slot) with a 5,000mAh battery keeping you going all day. The OPPO A17 also includes a 50MP AI Camera on the rear with a 5MP selfie camera in tear-drop notch in the 6.56” HD+ resolution LCD display on the front.

The phone runs ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12 which includes a bunch of great features including Three-finger translate to translate text from a screenshot with over 100 languages supported, Flex Drop which lets you run an app in a floating window, and Five-Grade Access Control and Photo Information Protection, to help keep sensitive information secure.

“The A17 might be a lightweight smartphone, but make no mistake, this device packs a punch, ” said OPPO Australia Managing Director, Michael Tran. “With the A17 we’ve prioritised features that Aussies value most, such as a quality camera system, long-lasting battery and sleek design, and brought them to market at a pocket-friendly price point. We’re confident the A17 will impress,” added Tran.

The phone is available in Australia from today for $259 from JB Hi-Fi, Big W, Harvey Norman, Officeworks, The Good Guys, Bing Lee and there’s a bonus offer for those picking it up before the 12th of February, with a bonus gift of a Konec Essential SIM plan (valued at $25) that includes 22GB of data for 30 days available via redemption. The plan offers great value with double the standard data allowance.
