Scosche announce new Magsafe and Wireless charging solutions alongside new car mounts and high powered GaN chargers

Scosche  (pronounced skōsh/skohsh) has today unveiled their latest in MagSafe and Wireless Charging, Power Delivery and Mount design at CES 2023.  Scosche is the number one brand in mounts in the US and Canada and is extremely popular in Australia too with many of their products featured at JB Hi-Fi and more.

MagSafe and Wireless Charging

Scosche has introduced MagSafe charging and MagSafe compatible charging for the home and office with their latest range.  To refresh yourself on the difference between MagSafe and MagSafe compatible you can read our post on it from last month here.

The BaseLynx 2.0 Modular Charging System is smaller, sleeker and more powerful than the first generation.  The BaseLynx 2.0 modules still snap together easily using magnetic connectors with various charging modules available.  Those available include:

  • 2-in-1 Charging Stand with MagSafe,
  • Magnetic Charger for Apple Watch,
  • Vertical Multi-Device Charging Station, and
  • Powered End Cap featuring GaN technology with a USB-C port and a convenient 120V outlet.

Once connected the system requires just a single power cable with each module able to work on their own or as part of a system.  The white version will be available at Apple stores for  US$49.95 to US$69.95 per individual modules or US$249.95 for a whole system in the US while the black version will be available in Winter (Australia time) 2023 on scosche.com and select retailers for US$49.95 to US$99.95 for individual modules.

Scosche has also announced the MagicMount Elite2 Magnetic Phone Mount which although a mouthful is a sleek, stylish design take on the previous more industrial design of previous Scosche mounts.  The new Neodymium magnets are 30 percent stronger than those in standard MagicMounts and help to align perfectly with MagSafe products such as the iPhone 14.  For those wanting to attach a non-Apple phone Scosche sell a MagicRing Adapter to stick to the back of your phone.

The Elite2 mount is available in both a dash and vent mount sand will be available towards the middle of 2023.

GaN Chargers

Scosche is also introducing two new GaN chargers which provide 35W and 65W which can be used on multiple devices or just a single one.  The chargers are smart chargers, sensing which device connected requires a greater share of the total power.  Both are available in the Australian winter so keep an eye out for them arriving online and instore.

It is unclear exactly when these will arrive in Australia but we will let you know when that information comes to hand.

EFTM’s Coverage of CES 2023 is made possible by the ongoing support of our regular advertisers and supporters such as Arlo, Belkin, Oppo, Netgear, JBL and Trend Micro, and by additional support from Samsung, LG, Hisense, TCL, BMW and Boost Mobile.
