TCL unveil new 40 series smartphones and MoveAudio Air earbuds

In their fourth year announcing phones under their own brand, TCL have unveiled the latest TCL 40 series smartphones at CES alongside their new MoveAudio Air earbuds. 

The TCL 40 series of smartphones include the TCL 40 R 5G, TCL, 40 SE and TCL 408, with each phone using the impressive TCL NXTVISION display technology. TCL is also promising long-lasting battery life from the TCL 40 series phones, and a 50MP AI-powered camera system which will work in daylight or low-light conditions. 

TCL 40 R 5G

The TCL 40 R 5G will come with a 6.6-inch display with 90Hz refresh and use a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor which includes 5G connectivity to keep you connected wherever you are and a 5,000mAh battery for all-day battery life.

The 50MP AI camera will be complemented by 2MP macro and 2MP depth camera, with an 8MP selfie camera on the front in a v-notch.

The TCL 40 R 5G has been announced in Stardust Purple and Starlight Black.

TCL 40 SE

The TCL 40 SE will include an immersive audio visual experience with a 6.75-inch HD+ resolution display capable of 90Hz refresh rate. A MediaTekHelioG37 processor will run the show, with a number of memory configurations announced including 4GB/128GB, 6GB/256GB with microSD card support on both.

The TCL 40 SE will also include a 50MP main sensor with 2MP depth and 2MP macro camera on-board with an 8MP selfie camera on the front in a mini-notch. The phone will also include dual stereo speakers and come with a 5,010mAh battery. 

The TCL 40 SE has been announced in two colours, with Dark Grey and Twilight Purple on offer.

TCL 408

Last for the phones, the TCL 408 has been announced with a 6.6-inch HD+ resolution display and will include a 2-in-1 hyper camera setup with a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP enhanced macro lens on the rear for high-resolution photos and an 8MP front-facing camera in a v-notch.

The TCL 408 will run a Mediatek MT6762 processor and come in either 4GB/64GB, 4GB/128GB or 6GB/64GB memory configurations and is powered by a 5,000mAh battery also come with dual stereo speakers. 

The TCL 408 will be coming in two colours: Gravity Grey and Midnight Blue.

MOVEAUDIO Air

As an accessory, TCL are announcing their latest earbuds at CES with the MOVEAUIDO Air bringing ‘ultimate audio immersion’.

The earbuds will include up to nine hours of music playback, with a total of 32 hours including the charging case. The MOVEAUDIO includes low-latench audio for super-fast audio with crystal-clear, well balanced sound which includes three EQ modes (Bass, Balanced & Podcast) in a lightweight package that includes a comfortable fit. 

The MOVEAudio Air also include touch sensitivity to control your music, podcasts or calls, with single double and triple touches offering multiple actions.

Availability & Pricing

TCL hasn’t given exact launch dates or local pricing, but we can expect the TCL 40 R 5G to be priced from USD $219 (around $325AUD), the TCL 40 SE from USD $169 (around $250 AUD) and the TCL 408 from USD $129 (around $190 AUD). Lastly, the TCL MOVEAUDIO Air will be priced at a bargain price of USD $39.99 (around $60 AUD).
