Google I/0 developer conference will be on May 10th in the US

Following their usual tradition of announcing the Google I/O developer conference through a puzzle for developers to solve, Google have announced on their developer blog that the event will be held in the US on May 10th.

The event will see limited in-person attendance at Shoreline Amphitheatre, just down the road from Google’s Headquarters, with the majority taking place online through streaming developer sessions at io.google/2023.

The event will see a number of new announcements across Google’s vast array of products including both hardware and software. A more detailed outline of Android 14 is expected, alongside a full beta release, as is more on their recently released Bard ChatAI, as well as more on Search, Maps, Chrome and of course more developer tools.

On the hardware front, a number of new products are expected to launch at I/O including a new Pixel 7a phone, the previously announced Pixel Tablet or even the much rumoured Pixel Fold could be announced.

Google will post more on the upcoming technical sessions as we approach the event, so register to receive updates as they happen.

We’ll be watching live and reporting as the keynote unfolds in the wee hours of May 11th here in Australia, with the Keynote generally kicking off around 9/10am PST in the US – around 2/3am AEST.
