OPPO Find X6 Pro has the best smartphone camera in the world — but is it coming to Australia?

OPPO has improved their smartphone photography chops in the past few years and this year they may have hit the pinnacle. According to smartphone testing website, DXOMark, the OPPO Find X6 Pro has the best smartphone camera on the market.

This year the OPPO Find X6 Pro arrives with a massive one-inch sensor in its 50MP main camera alongside a 50MP telephoto camera and a 50MP ultrawide camera — it certainly has all the megapixels! DXOMark ran the newest OPPO flagship through its barrage of tests and found that the Find X6 Pro was not just at the top of several tests but also within a point or two of the top mark in others.

The most notable is the low-light photography with that one-inch sensor producing results that are considered the best on the market. It also received top marks for family photography with respect to portrait and group photos and videos. What more could you want in a smartphone camera?

The latest Oppo flagship uses large image sensors across all camera modules, which contributes to excellent texture and noise results in photo, zoom, bokeh, and video. In our tests, fine detail was preserved impressively well, and noise levels were kept very low, making the Find X6 Pro the best smartphone to date in terms of texture/noise trade-off.

This remained true even in low light, earning the Oppo the top score for low-light performance. The outstanding texture and noise results in dim conditions, in addition to the accurate target exposure and nice colors, mean the Oppo Find X6 Pro is the currently best option for smartphone photography in challenging low-light conditions.

The kicker is that, at this stage, OPPO has no plans to release the Find X6 Pro outside of China. Here at EFTM we hold out hope that it will release globally once OPPO see how well it is received in the tech world, especially with this new DXOMark ranking. Not only do we hope that but we truly believe that OPPO are thinking that way — why else would their global Twitter account call for Find X6 Pro ambassadors?

If you want to see the smartphone with the best camera in the world release here in Australia, head over to their social media channels and let them know how much you’d love to buy one — we are certainly making our thoughts known to OPPO. Hopefully a bit of pressure by consumers will see it arrive Downunder. Better late than never.
