Ring’s second gen Indoor Camera is now available in Australia

Last month Ring announced the second generation of their affordable, tiny, feature-packed Indoor Camera and it is now available in Australia.

The new Indoor Camera arrives with a physical security cover that switches off audio and video recording when placed over the camera lens giving you that extra level of security and peace of mind that your privacy is being protected.

Along with the new security cover, the second generation Indoor Camera features:

  • 1080p HD Video with Live View
  • 2-way talk
  • Real-time notifications
  • Colour night vision
  • Advanced Pre-roll (with a Ring Protect subscription)
  • Plug in power

In effect, the Indoor Camera provides much the same features as its predecessor except that is has the new security and privacy cover and also a redesigned mount that makes it easier to adjust the view from the camera. Although this is Ring’s first offering with a physical privacy cover, they are not the first company to implement it.

For those who already have a Ring Indoor Camera first gen and just want the security cover, rather than buy a whole new camera there is a Privacy Kit that you can purchase for just $15 that includes the camera cover and a power adapter (you do not get the new mount with this option). This kit will also NOT, I repeat, NOT stop audio recording — video only.

Indoor Camera (2nd Gen) is available to order now for $99 AUD / $119 NZD on amazon.com.au and ring.com/au/en.
