TikTok announces milestone of 8.5 million Australian users

While politicians might be banned, there’s a vast and vibrant community of Aussies using TikTok every single month with the company’s Australian office announcing their user numbers for the first time.

If you’ve ever wondered How many people are on TikTok in Australia – we finally have an answer.

Close to 40% of the Adult population are using TikTok, or nearly 30% of all Australians, with 8.5 million Australians active on the platform every single month.

While this is close to, in fact more than the 7-8million that had been guessed and insinuated by many over recent months, today’s announcement is an outright statistic the company has released publicly for the first time.

In an effort to demonstrate their impact on the Australian community, and economy, TikTok Australia are also claiming a total of 350,000 businesses using TikTok as their “preferred platform” for social engagement.

In releasing this data, TikTok Australia say they “want to say thank you to all of our loyal users! We are deeply grateful to each of you that enjoy our platform and for helping us on our mission of inspiring creativity and spreading joy”

The company has 250 employees in Australia.
