Sony unveils new Spider-Man themed PS5 and controller ahead of game launch

At their San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) Hall H Panel unveiling of the new story trailer for the upcoming Spider-Man 2 game, Insomniac games have also unveiled a new Spider-Man themed Playstation 5 console and controller.

As well as having the Spider-Man design on the cover plates and controller, the Spider-Man console will also include a digital code to download the Spider-Man 2 game which will launch on October 20th. The PS5 includes a disc-drive as well as Spider-Man livery on both plates, with the black tentacles of Venom prominently displayed one, while the back plate is completely black except for the Spider-Man logo.

For those already owning a PS5 you’ll be pleased to know you can transform your existing console, with Sony announcing they will sell the Spider-Man themed cover plates and controller separately. At this stage Sony has only announced pre-orders in select countries with Australia not currently mentioned and local retailers haven’t yet acknowledged it on social media.

‘If you want to get your hands on one, and it does head down under, then pre-orders will start on July 28th, with the console due to arrive in September.

Oh, and the new Spider-Man 2 trailer? Check it out here, the game looks like it’s going to be a banger.
