This is the foldable OPPO Find N3, scheduled to launch globally next week, October 19 — here are the launch details

For some inexplicable reason OPPO did not release their second foldable smartphone (non-flip variety) globally which was extremely disappointing for many of us as the short, squat form factor of the find N2 was incredibly enticing.

We may not have to wait much longer though with a global launch of the Find N3 series announced for this coming week, October 19. The event has been announced for Singapore, 19 October, 14:30 GMT+8 which Google tells me is the same as Perth time, so add on three hours for AEDT.

Now, before we get too excited we need to remember that the OPPO Find N3 series includes not just the foldable but also the successor to the incredibly successful Find N2 Flip, the Find N3 Flip and we may not even see the foldable Find N3 but given the YouTube clip from OPPO mentions the Find N3 series it seems a fair assumption to make that we’ll see the Find N3 make an appearance.

As I type this, OPPO has uploaded two new Find N3 videos to YouTube suggesting that the Find N3 will be lighter than the other available foldables on the market. I’ve watched the video many times over and it doesn’t really show us much aside from the size of the bezels on the front and inner displays. Not once do we see the rear camera setup though.

The OPPO Find N3 Flip has been on sale in China for a couple of months now and features a triple rear camera which, by all accounts, produces quality images never seen before on a foldable smartphone outside of China.

The OPPO Find N3 on the other hand has been kept well under wraps by OPPO, although they have been excessively teasing the OnePlus Open which is meant to be the US-centric doppelganger of the Find N3.

The OnePlus Open will sport an outer 6.3-inch OLED display and a 7.8-inch OLED display on the inside, both featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The rear camera setup is expected to be even better than that on the Flip with the setup comprising two 48MP cameras (primary and ultrawide) and a 64MP telephoto camera.

Given OPPO’s brand recognition in all countries other than the US we expect the OPPO Find N3 to release here in Australia (I have all of my fingers and toes crossed).

All will be revealed on Thursday the 19th October and you can be sure we will be publishing all the details including local availability and pricing as soon as it comes to hand so stay tuned to EFTM.
