Nothing is launching at JB Hifi starting with Nothing Phone (2) and (2a)

London based tech company Nothing has announced a new partnership with JB Hifi that will see their latest phones, the Nothing Phone 2 and 2a arrive in all JB Hi-Fi stores from April 11, 2024.

Nothing, founded by Carl Pei formerly of mobile company OnePlus, burst onto the scene in 2020, first with a pair of earbuds before launching their first phone in 2022. The phone stood out with a transparent rear and bright notification LEDs

The latest phones, the Nothing Phone 2 launched last year and Nothing Phone 2a announced earlier this month, have previously been available via the Nothing online store only. This new partnership marks the first time they’ve officially been available at retail in Australia.

Akis Evangelidis, Co-founder of Nothing said

We are thrilled to be working with JB HiFi to launch our product portfolio to their engaged customers and provide them the opportunity to experience the full range of Nothing’s innovative products in-store across Australia

The phones offer different features and come at different price points, with the Nothing Phone 2a priced from $529 with 8GB RAM and 128GB of on-board storage, or with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage for $599. The Nothing Phone 2 starts at $999 with 256GB of on-board storage, or you can jump to 512GB for $1,099 with both phones including 12GB of RAM.

Both phones come in White or Black colour options, and include the playful, fun LED notification lights on the rear which can be customised using the Nothing OS powered by Android 14. Nothing previously announced, both phones will receive three Android version upgrades and four years of (bi-monthly) security patch updates.
