Apple announces the iPad Air with new power and larger screen size

Apple’s premium iPad the iPad Air is getting bigger, faster and has its sights set on the creativity and productivity community after a whole new iPad Air range was announced this morning by Apple.

During the keynote presentation, streamed online and at Apple hosted events in London, New York and Shanghai, Apple stated that almost half of all iPad Pro buyers opt for the larger screen version of the device.

Given this, it makes sense that Apple would bring that larger screen to the Air range – self-described by Apple as bringing features pioneered in the Pro models to a wider audience at a more affordable price.

The new iPad Air comes in a new look Blue and Purple colour, along with Starlight and Space Grey.

Additionally, iPad Air now features the powerful Apple M2 chip.

There’s enhanced audio, but also a tweak to the camera position to the longer side of the device, given that’s how most people use it in a “laptop like” mode.

The all new iPad Air goes on sale immediately

Australian pricing for iPad Air:

  • iPad Air 11-inch (WiFi) from $999
  • iPad Air 11-inch (WiFi + Cellular) from $1,249
  • iPad Air 13-inch (WiFi) from $1,299
  • iPad Air 13-inch (WiFi + Cellular) from $1,549
