How to watch the Paris Olympics in Australia – a guide to the best coverage

It all formerly kicks off at 4am on Saturday July 27th with the Opening Ceremony. Of course there are a few things like Archery, Football, Handball and Rugby that will actually commence their competitions prior to that so for those fans, it all kicks off early.

For 2024 the rights-holder for the Olympic Games is the Nine Network, the first of three Summer games for the Network. And with the reach of Nine, plus the companies within the group, there’s a lot of ways to get the best from your viewing experience.

How to watch the Paris Olympics on Free to Air TV

There will be 24 hour a day action on the 9 network and 9now. Both Channel 9 and 9Gem will be dedicated to the games, produced by the Wide World of Sports team, in HD 24/7 – in total more than 750 hours of coverage free to air.

Hosting duties will be filled by Sarah Abo, Karl Stefanovic, Todd Woodbridge, Leila McKinnon, Dylan Alcott, Ally Langdon, James Bracey and Eddie McGuire, with Sylvia Jeffreys, Nick McArdle and Sam McClure on hosting duties on 9Gem.

The Opening Ceremony coverage will begin at 3.00am AEST on Saturday, July 27 on Channel 9 and 9Now and will be replayed on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Paris 2024 will end with the Closing Ceremony on Monday, August 12.

What Olympics Coverage will there be free on 9Now?

9Now will have a staggering 40 Full HD streams. Every event featuring an Australian Athlete will be available to watch. Just think about that, the grandmother of an athlete in any sport can watch their loved one compete – that’s never happened before.
