Way back in April we brought you a first look at the changes coming to the iPhone 16 later this year with the big news being a new side button which is most likely a “shutter” button for camera users. Today, we can reveal what look to be the five colours of the iPhone 16.
It should be noted that normally we receive the iPhone dummy models in around June and that’s more advanced than the CNC metal models we got in April, but not normally showing any colour. At August, you’d have to believe that Apple has finished their plans and is now at least close to production for the next iPhone which makes this colour leak all the more beleivable.
These are, as the name says – “dummys” – they are mock ups made by factories looking to get your business making cases for the next iPhone. They allow case makers to get a best guess at designing and beginning production of cases for the next iPhone well ahead of it actually being announced in the hope they can have their case on shelves at the time the iPhone is available.
What we see here in these models are:
The colours are far more vibrant than in years gone by, and if Apple can match the frame colour of these models, it is likely they’ve created a new way to colourise that metal frame.
Normally the colours are washed out to match the frame, last year’s pink, yellow, green and blue were dull at best, the blue was barely coloured at all. The 2024 model iPhone looks to take a sharp turn back to vibrant colours.
All going to plan, we expect the iPhone announcement Wednesday September 11 in Australia (September 10 in the USA), it might go on sale as soon as September 20.
It’s all rumour and speculation though, nothing is official until Apple announce their event, and the iPhone could be far different when it’s revealed – though history would indicate that to be unlikely.
