The new and improved Echo Show 8 from Amazon is on its way Downunder

Amazon’s new Echo Show 8 is on its way to Australia with pre-orders open now from Amazon AU and JB Hi-Fi.

The new Echo Show 8 is perfect for the smart home with the ability to control your smart home devices using the built-in smart home hub along with being able to watch or listen to your favourite media or if you’re like me, use it to check your home’s security cameras on the HD display.

The smart home hub supports Matter, Zigbee, Thread, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi allowing for easy pairing and control of your smarthome. The processing power also saw an upgrade resulting in the ability to have Alexa process requests 40 percent faster.

This year’s Echo Show 8 has improved speakers with room adaption technology for optimal sound generation and reproduction along with an auto-framing camera enahnced audio pipeline to minimiise background noise for quality video calls.

The new Echo Show 8 also features Amazon’s new Adaptive Content to provide you with “more useful and engaging content and information.” Enrol your face on the device and it will also show you personalised content such as recent playlists or news articles from your interests.

For the security conscious there is a manual mic/camera off button and a built-in camera shutter — you can also delete your voice recordings at any time using the device.

The new Echo Show 8 is available for pre-order now in Glacier White and Charcoal for RRP AU$249 from Amazon.com.au/EchoShow8jbhifi.com.au and other leading retailers, and will begin shipping from 22 August.
