Logitech’s ‘Celebration of Gaming Innovation, Community, and Play’ known as LogiPlay has kicked off in Paris. The event is showcasing their upcoming new hardware including new mice, keyboards, headset and gaming wheels.
The LogiPlay event is taking place in Paris, but Logitech will be running two local activations here in Australia.
The activations will feature exclusive hands-on preview of the latest product launches in Sydney and Melbourne. The event in Sydney will be open at Westfield Bondi from September 18th-29th, while gamers down south can check them out at Melbourne Central from September 18th-22nd.
So what was announced? The Logitech LogiPlay event saw a new G915x keyboard announced, an update to the G915, as well as the new A50 Gen 5 headset with improved mic and Pro Graphene drivers.
Logitech have also unveiled new Pro level devices, including the new Pro X Superlight Dex mouse for right handed players and the Pro X TKL Rapid keyboard with Magnetic Analog Switches.
For racers, Logitech is also announcing new Racing Series (RS) range, including an RS Shifter & Handbrake, RS Wheel Hubs and RS QR Adapter, as well as new steering wheels including a new ‘track’ Wheel and a new round wheel.
The new Logitech G915x keyboard is their first update to one of the best selling mechanical keyboards to date. The G915 is one of the first low profile mechanical keyboards, but there’s room for improvement, and now we have the G915x.
The G915x will be offered in wired and wireless options, as well as a TenKeyLess (TKL) model. With the G915x offering tri-mode connectivity using Logitech’s ultrafast LIGHTSPEED wireless, as well as Bluetooth and USB-C wired connectivity.
There’s a host of new features, but one of the biggest is the update to the switches, with a lower actuation point to reduce key travel. The new switches also now support custom aftermarket keycaps so gamers can personalise them, though the included caps are double shot PBT for reduced wear.
There’s a larger battery in the G915x, which can last up to 800 hours with no backlighting on Lightspeed connections, or 36 hours with RGB lighting enabled.
The original volume roller, G key, and media buttons are back, with Logitech also offering nine programmable G-keys. Logitech is also bringing KeyControl to the G915x, offering custom mapping through G Hub.
You’ll be able to pre-order the G915x today in Black and White for the wireless, and black for the wired, through LogitechG.com. The pricing has been announced for all three models:
The new Astro A50 Gen 5 updates the previous gen with more features for multi-platform gamers.
The new Logitech A50 Gen 5 introduces Playsync Audio which will allow for seamless connectivity across three gaming systems, including Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC, and more.
The base is connected to the systems via USB-C, allowing you to switch between the audio on each using a single button on the headset – making it a key difference to the Astro A50x we reviewed earlier this year which controls both audio AND video feeds.
The headset now uses Pro-G Graphene Audio Drivers for excellent clarity of sound, and Logitech have listened to feedback on audio input and included a 48 kHz high-resolution microphone.
The headphones can be tuned using the G HUB app on PC, or the Logitech G App on iOS/Android devices, offering access to EQ and presets to customise their experience.
You can pre-orde the Logitech G ASTRO A50 5th Generation Wireless Gaming Headset + Base Station for $599.95 from logitechg.com. Orders will start shipping in October.
As a premier brand, Logitech have also announced their next generation of Pro series Mice and Keyboard.
The new PRO Series Gear features the PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX Gaming Mouse designed specifically for right-handed gamers, and the PRO X TKL RAPID Gaming Keyboard, Logitech’s debut magnetic analog keyboard, offering adjustable actuation points and rapid trigger functionality.
The PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX Gaming Mouse has been designed with right-handed gamers in mind, with the new asymmetrical designed set to improve ergonomics, as well as including new tech features.
The mouse includes Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED Wireless connectivity with the Hero 2 Sensor, allowing for polling between mouse and receiver at 8KHz – that’s 8,000 times per second, making for extreme accuracy and low-latency, and it’s super-smooth with large PTFE feet.
Logitech have also included their LightForce Switches which offer optical sensing for instant actuation.
You can get your hands on the PRO X Superlight 2 DEX in pink, black, and white colourways for $299.95.
The new Logitech G Pro X TKL Rapid offers an upgrade for gamers with magnetic analog key switches for improved accuracy and speed.
The keyboard includes Logitech’s Key Priority and KeyControl integration through Logitech G-Hub, with Key Priority Users can see improvements in precision, speed, and control over in-game movement, while KeyControl allows players to assign multiple key bindings to a single key press.
Pro gamers will also love the new feature to quickly and easily configure actuation points and rapid trigger settings without installing G HUB.
The PRO X TKL Rapid gaming keyboard is available in pink, black, and white colourways for $329.95 through Logitech.
Logitech’s racing wheels have always been on the top of the list for many gamers, and the new Racing Series line is set to offer more options and personalisation.
The new range includes the RS Wheel hubs which will fit the newly announced F1 inspired ‘Track Wheel’, as well as the Round Wheel (no flat on the bottom). Logitech have also introduced the new RS Shifter & Handbrake offering a customisable unit that can operate how you like it. There’s also the new RS QR Adapter for fitting almost any wheel you want.
The new Logitech G RS Wheel Hub pairs seamlessly with any Logitech G Direct Drive Base and have a user-friendly quick-release mechanism to let you quickly switch between wheels.
The Wheel Hubs include adjustable gear shifters which can be customised in width to fit different wheel rim sizes, and you can also remove them if you’re using the new RS Shifter & Handbrake.
The new RS Wheel Hub is suited to the new RS Track Wheel, offering a flat look wheel designed for track racing.
The Track Wheel is made from lightweight, low-carbon aluminium covered with a sculpted TPE material, that features a custom microtexture dot pattern, for improved breathability and improved traction.
The Round Wheel is made from low-carbon aluminium, with a high performance silicone leather on the outer.
Both the RS Track and Round Wheels attach to the Logitech G RS Wheel Hub, with bolts & hex key included.
If the new Track and Round Wheel aren’t suited to you, the new RS QR Adapter, made from high quality aluminium, will let you fit almost any70mm or 50.8mm PCD front- or rear-mounting aftermarket steering wheel – meaning you can walk into SuperCheap and come out with a steering wheel ready to go.
The Adapter features quick-release functionality, enabling easy wheel swaps from race to race.
The adapter is designed to enhance TRUEFORCE feedback, as well as being lighter and allows for more detailed feedback to help improve your lap times.
The new RS Shifter & Handbrake are an innovative new accessory for racing gamers, with a unit which can switch between sequential shifter and handbrake functions without needing any tools.
The unit includes versatile mounting options so you can even have them side-by-side but mounted differently to help differentiate between the two. The mount even includes a durable steel core table clamp, and a height-adjustable handle.
Gamers can also fine-tune the RS Shifter and Handbrake in the G HUB software.
You can pre-order the new Racing Series from today at LogitechG.com.
Logitech have also announced a multi-year partnership with MOMO.
The new partnership will see Momo providing new wheels compatible with the new Logitech G RS Wheel Hub, with two wheels announced today – the SIM GT 320 and SIM GT-Racer 290 – and more to follow soon.
The new Momo wheels will come in two sizes – 290mm and 320mm as their name suggests – and are made from a 3mm thick black anodised aluminium plate, with a luxurious hand-wrapped microfiber rim grip.
No details on the unannounced wheels which will arrive next year, but the new SIM GT 320 and SIM GT-Racer 290 are expected to be available in January 2025.
