Samsung launches Washer/Dryer combo with Heat Pump technology – Wash and dry a load in 98 minutes!

Combination washer and dryer units are not new, but they’ve always had their fair share of niggling items in the “Cons” list of any person giving them consideration. However, with the addition of Heat Pump dryer technology, Samsung may have solved that with their latest Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo.

Launching next week in Australia for $5,499 this single machien will wash and dry, and at the same time offer up to 60% energy savings during the wash cycle and 20% in the dry cycle with AI Energy Mode.

“Our new Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo uses AI innovation to learn your usage patterns, and provide recommendations to help care for your clothes to help you do more in less time,” said Jeremy Senior, Vice President, Consumer Electronics, Samsung Australia.

“The Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo embodies Samsung’s broader Bespoke AI commitment to make homes more functional to suit individual needs, and enhance and simplify everyday life with advanced AI technology. This new all-in-one washer and dryer combo unlocks another level of value and convenience beyond the laundry, by helping to monitor energy usage and aligning chores to suit Australians schedule. It’s about adding convenience and efficiency to your routine, so you can focus on what matters most.”

This single unit is able to do an 18.5kg washing load and a 10kg dryer which means less overall washing loads for busy and large Aussie families.

A smaller 3KG load can be washed and dried in just 98 minutes! 28 Minutes for the wash, and 70 for the dry.

Heat Pump technology is better for the clothes too, a more gentle low temperature running means your clothes stay in better condition longer.

Samsung’s Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo is also smart as anything, able to dispense the right amount of water and detergent to suit the load, and also monitor the level of soiling during the cycle to adjust the time and detergent accordingly.

Your drying cycle is then customised based on the weight and type of fabric for optimal results.

According to Samsung’s research, 94% of Aussies are making adjustments to their homes to help save on energy, so while a new combo unit like this is expensive up front the ongoing savings are where it pays off.

And it’s smart too – not just because of all those in-cycle detections, but there’s a 7 inch touch screen that controls the device, but also your smart home, with a 3D map allowing you to control other Samsung devices right from the Combo unit while you’re in the laundry. Sorting clothes getting it done, and boom, turn the Vacuum on.

Samsung’s Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo is a mouthful, but is available for Pre-order direct from Samsung, and select retailers, and will be available from September 12 for $5,499.
