Amazon AU launches Blink their affordable smart home security brand into Australia

Blink is Amazon’s affordable smart home security brand designed to make entry into the smart home security market much more affordable with prices starting at just $69.

Launching in Australia with two cameras it is available at Bunnings and Amazon.com.au.

The new Blink Wi-Fi security cameras offer up to two years of battery life with just two AA batteries and local storage options — there’s not many that still do that.

Blink products use a custom-built proprietary chip which is designed to save power while also enabling smart notifications with features such as motion and person detection through on-device computer vision.

We know that Aussies want to invest in home security products but that cost-of-living pressures are impacting us all. We’re thrilled to launch Blink in Australia and New Zealand, bringing our customers more feature-packed options at incredible value,” said Mark Fletcher, Blink Managing Director, APAC. “For those considering the installation of a smart home security system, the Outdoor 4 and Mini 2 cameras from Blink are an ideal, and affordable, place to start.”

The two cameras launched in Australia at this stage are the Blink Outdoor 4 and the Blink Mini 2.

Blink Outdoor 4

This is a battery-powered outdoor camera capable of delivering 1080p HD live video, IR night vision, two-way audio and a wide field of view — all with a battery life of up to two years.

The Outdoor 4 comes with the Blink Sync Module 2 which allows customers to control up to 10 Blink cameras from the Blink app and view, share and save videos locally.

The Outdoor 4 comes with the Sync Module 2 and is available in one-, two-, three- or five-camera packs, starting from AU9. The Sync Module 2 also available separately for AU.

Blink Mini 2

The Blink Mini 2 is a compact, plug-in camera with 1080p HD live view, a built-in LED spotlight, two-way audio and motion detection.

It can also be used outdoors when purchased with the Blink Weather Resistant Power Adapter, sold separately for AU or as part of a bundle with the Mini 2 — starting at AU.

A smart home security solution wouldn’t be complete without the availability of a subscription package. The Blink Subscription Plan allows customers to save and share clips to the cloud with unlimited cloud storage for up to 60 days.

The subscription is also required for the more advanced features such as person detection and Blink Moments. Customers who purchase a Blink camera will receive a 30-day free trial of Blink’s Subscription Plan, and there are two tiers available – Basic and Plus – starting from per month for Basic and per month for Plus.

All Blink devices, accessories and subscription plans are available for purchase in-store exclusively from Bunnings Warehouse and on Amazon.com.au/Blink
