Call Santa from a Telstra Payphone and teach your kids about public phones at the same time

Telstra has brought back their direct line to Santa at Payphones across Australia as we get close to Christmas and this year they’ve got a kid-sized Payphone too!

The little smartphone is as cute as heck, the little ones will love it – once they work out what it is. And it’s real, but sadly there’s only a few of those in a couple of CBD Telstra Stores.

Payphones have come a long way in the last five years, they’re now free to use and while most people think “so what?” there’s plenty who have had those moments when your phone is dead and you need to call home.

Critically, the over 14,000 Telstra Payphones aren’t just branding and in some cases Free WiFi – over 25 million free calls are made every year and that includes over 300,000 calls to emergency services.

It’s a worthy thing to teach your kids frankly – those payphones, they are actually just “FreePhones” and if you pick one up and dial a number – it will call.

Call home any time. If your phone is stolen, broken, lost or you’re out of battery – call us. Kids should know that.

Which is why the Kids calling Santa idea is so cool.

Take your kids to a PayPhone an d call #46 46 46 (Ho Ho Ho), and follow the prompts to speak to the big man!

The mini phone booth is available at Telstra’s Discovery Store in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane until Christmas Eve.
