Samsung have announced that the first build of One UI 7 for their Galaxy series devices is rolling out in Beta from today.
Based on the recent Android 15 release, One UI 7 will integrate AI agents and multimodal capabilities into every touch point of the interface, says Samsung.
The update will include enhanced on-device AI functions, including writing assist tools, call transcript updates in 29 languages.
As well as new features, One UI 7 will include a new ‘simple, impactful and emotive design’ with a simplified home screen that reduces visual clutter, as well as redesigned One UI widgets, and lock screen. There’s also a slew of Android 15 features sure to be baked in including improvements to camera, messaging and passwords with a new low light boost and in-app camera controls for third-party apps, and Private Space.
There’s also a new AI powered notification system to streamline your communication. Called the ‘Now Bar’, the bar will highlight recent activities it thinks you may find relevant across features like Interpreter, Music, Recording, Stopwatch and more.
The aim is to allow you to benefit from, or access AI at any point on the One UI 7 platform, as well as to bolster security.
The One UI 7 update will include a number of security related new updates including Knox Matrix, Theft Protection, Auto Blocker to enhance safety in today’s hyperconnected, AI-powered world.
While the Beta will roll out from today, it will only be available to Samsung Members in Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the U.S. Samsung did say they will begin rolling the update out in Australia in early 2025, with Galaxy S series devices first and other Galaxy Devices following suit after.
The official One UI 7 release will commence with upcoming Galaxy S series devices, featuring additional AI capabilities including enhanced on-device AI functions, starting from the first quarter of 2025 including Australia.
