If you want to know one area of technology that is going to boom with advances thanks to AI in 2025 – think Smart Home Security Cameras. We saw so much of this at CES we can’t wait to share it with you, but right now, Arlo is kicking off the new-year with “fire detection” a feature in their smart notification plan that will detect flames, perhaps even before there’s smoke.
In simple terms, this is your camera “seeing” flames within its field of view, quite likely even before the smoke has spread to anywhere near your smoke detector.
This could allow you a faster reaction time, calling authorities even if you’re away from home.
Arlo Fire Detection is compatible with the existing range of Arlo indoor and outdoor cameras and works for users with the Secure 5 Plus subscription.
Of course, this feature should be used as an additional tool in your home safety, not replacing any existing fire detection systems, however the idea that my camera might alert me before even my smart smoke detector is amazing.
