HMD unveils new budget friendly phones with a smartphone for just $129

Human Mobile Devices (HMD) has announced a couple of new entry level phones launching today, offering dependable, stylish handsets on a budget.

The affordable new devices include the new HMD Key smartphone priced at $129, alongside the new candybar style HMD 110 which is priced at just $79.

Brenden Folitarik, at Human Mobile Devices (HMD), said of the launch of the HMD Key and HMD 110

“Smart or dumb, phones don’t have to be expensive to keep you connected, and it’s great to add these two devices to our Australian range. The HMD Key gets people a great bang-for-buck smartphone, while the HMD 110 gives you the basics of connection. We will continue to provide compelling options for all Australians with both affordability and simplicity in mind.”

HMD Key

The HMD Key includes a lot for the $129 price tag, including a 6.52” HD display, with an 8MP rear camera, and 5MP selfie camera on the front.

The phone will come in two colour options: Icy Blue and Shadow Black, and is powered by a Unisoc processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB of storage – both of which can be bolstered with RAM Boost and microSD cards – and a 4000 mAh battery will keep you going all day.

HMD has used Android 14 Go edition, designed for phones with lower end specs, which also includes more memory and storage friendly versions of Google’s popular apps. The HMD Key will receive quarterly security updates for the next two years for added peace of mind.

The HMD Key is available now at Big W and online at Officeworks for A 9

HMD 110

If you really want to minimise your digital lifestyle, the HMD 110 is a great option to remain in touch on your terms.

While it’s not a smartphone, there’s still features with a voice recorder, camera with dual LED flashlight and an FM radio and MP3 player – you can also get back into Snake on the 2.0” Display and use the large T9 keypad to drive home the nostalgia.

It has a 1,450mah battery which can go for up to 47 hours between charges – offering a massive 21 hours of talk time, as well as being swappable to get you back up and running fast.

The phone has a compact design,  making it easy to store in a bag, pocket or glove box and comes in two colours: Blue and Titanium.

The HMD 110 is available now at JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and Officeworks for A.
