Durable OPPO A5 5G lands in Australia with long battery life and VOOC fast charging

Hot on the heels of the A5 Pro 5G release earlier this month, OPPO have announced the more affordable A5 5G has arrived in Australia today also bringing a durable design, as well as  a massive 6,000 mAh battery with 45W SUPERVOOC Flash Charging.

Priced at $299, the OPPO A5 5G comes in two colours, Aurora Green and Mist White, with a slim 7.99mm profile, which includes military grade shock resistance (MIL-STD 810H), with an IP65 dust/water resistance rating so you can use it worry free. 

The 6,000mAh battery promises over 22 hours of talk time, or 18.86 hours of uninterrupted YouTube video streaming, says OPPO, with the battery able to sit on standby for up to 508 hours, and for added durability, the battery has a 5-year lifespan.

We’ve engineered the A5 5G with the features customers need most, long-lasting battery life, enhanced durability, and cutting-edge AI technology, all at a price that makes high performance accessible to everyone.”

There’s a large 6.67″ display capable of up to 1,000 nits brightness, and it’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 Mobile Platform. OPPO includes up to 4GB of RAM which can be bolstered by their RAM Expansion that lets you borrow from any unused portions of the on-board 128GB of storage.

The OPPO camera system includes a 50MP Ultra-Clear Main Camera, 2MP Depth Camera on the rear, and 8MP selfie camera embedded in the display. 

Running ColorOS 15 with Gemini AI included, as well as AI-powered photography tools including AI Eraser 2.0 and AI Clarity Enhancer for crisp images.
