Samsung announces the availability of the Premiere 5, an interactive ultra-short-throw projector

Samsung has today announced the availability and pricing of its first interactive triple-laser ultra-short-throw (UST) projector, the Premiere 5 (LPF5D). Priced at $2,999, the Premiere 5 is available now from Samsung’s Online Store and leading retailers, including Harvey Norman.

The Premiere 5 is ideal for the home and can be set up in many different-sized spaces throughout your home. The projector integrates with your smartphone to allow you to mirror content from your handheld device via SmartThings or Apple AirPlay 2.

The projectors stand houses an infrared camera and an infrared laser module to allow for touch-based operation just by touching the area where the display is being projected onto. This means that even games can be projected and played by multiple people using touch actions on a display up to 20-inches in size.

“The Premiere 5 is designed to go beyond content to deliver immersive, engaging and memorable experiences that bring people together or support productivity in new ways,” said Simon Howe, Director – Audio Visual, Samsung Australia. “By combining Samsung’s big screen picture quality with a compact design and user-centric functionality, we are providing Australians with more screen options that enable them to use their screen tailored to the way that suits their needs.”

The Premiere 5 uses Samsung’s Triple Laser Technology, which is capable of projecting content with vivid colours without blur to screen sizes from 40 inches up to 100 inches. The projector includes a sensor to detect the environmental light conditions and then adjust the colour, contrast and brightness automatically.

The Ultra Short Throw design of the Premiere 5 allows it to project media from distances as small as 12cm from the wall, allowing it to blend in seamlessly with your home.

Sound-wise, you won’t be missing out with the integrated sound system featuring Q Symphony, Active Voice Amplifier Pro, and Adaptive Sound Pro all pumped out through the 10W 2-channel speaker system for an immersive experience. These speakers allow the projector to be used as a standalone speaker to play music over Bluetooth, AirPlay or music casting.

The Premiere 5 includes a vast array of free content via Samsung’s Smart Hub, which also allows you to manage your compatible smart home devices using just the projector.

The Premiere 5 joins Samsung’s 2025 Projector line-up, which includes The Premiere 7Premiere 9 and The Freestyle. The Premiere 5 is now available for $2,999 from Samsung’s Online Store and leading retailers nationwide, including Harvey Norman.
