iPhone 17 Colours revealed – Would you want an Orange iPhone?

It’s peak leak season for Apple with just over a month until we expect the company to announce the latest generation of their iPhone models. As has become a regular thing, a non-descript package arrived at the EFTM office with a lot of dummy phones inside that tell us even more about what the industry thinks Apple has cooking.

Given these “Dummy” models are all about accessory manufactures getting a headstart on making cool new cases to fit and match the iPhone we’re pretty confident in the broad range of colours we’ve got to show you here. However, how bright or dull the colours are in the real phones we won’t know until September.

But, for those curious eyes, here’s the full iPhone 17 colour lineup as we understand it right now:

Kicking it off at the base level with iPhone 17, you can see five colours, a new look blue, a green, and a lilac or purple which could just as easily be Apple’s pink – but we doubt they’ll go with the exact same colours.

More likely these more washed out colours are spot on for the 2025 era Smartphone.

The phone itself as we’ve previously reported doesn’t appear to differ in any major way, although in these dummies there is no SIM card try on the iPhone 17 or iPhone 17 Air. Now the US model has not had that for a couple of generations, when that will happen in Australia or other markets we don’t know. Could Apple be testing the friction in the market with the entry-level iPhone 17 or is this just a case of these dummies are lacking info. Lets be honest, your phone case doesn’t allow for the SIM slot so it wouldn’t matter. My guess is, SIM will remain across the iPhone 17 range in Australia.

For the new model in the range, the iPhone 17 Air (or whatever it ends up being announced as – though that seems most likely), it’s a more subtle range of colours

Black, White, a washed out Blue and one that I can only describe as “Natural” in the language of Apple’s recent devices.

I don’t mind this device at all, it feels great in the hand, though the single lens camera will be off-putting for many I’d expect. Gotta love that Zoom – and the kids won’t want it without a 0.5 lens.

For the Pro models, both the Pro and Pro Max models have the same four colour options.

And while last year’s options were very safe, Apple has really introduced some colour choice for Pro users if these Dummy models are to be beleived.

A very dark Blue takes the cake for me, it seems the on-trend colour with Motorola and Samsung leaning into it this year, but looks pretty good in this Pro model iPhone..

But hold the phone and take a look at that Orange phone! That’s either a real mis-communication in the leak of these colours, or it’s a real leak that Apple is using to find out who’s leaking, or – of course, it might be one of the colours coming to iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max – we’ll find out in about a month from now.

Apple’s clear run to September will only be interrupted by Google’s new Pixel range next week, after that, it’s all eyes on Cupertino.

If we had to guess, we’d expect the event to take place on September 9 or 10, but we’ve been wrong before and stranded waiting to get there, so here’s hoping folks!
