LG set to unveil new fridge models at IFA 2025 with new AI features onboard

LG is unveiling its latest refrigerator lineup at IFA 2025. Although those shown off will be specific European models, we will get a good indication for the LG fridges that will arrive on our shores later this year.

The 2025 lineup includes new french door and bottom freezer models with a focus on smart features with energy-saving performance.  With such an intense focus on energy efficiency, it is no surprise that the new bottom-freezer model exceeds the European Union’s energy efficiency A rating by a whopping 40%.  The french door model also earned the A rating.

They achieved these results not just by new insulation design but also by AI-based features to reduce electricity consumption.

Those with limited kitchen space will love the Zero Clearance Hinge, enabling doors to open fully even when placed flush against a wall.

AI features in the fridges include AI Fresh to monitor door-opening habits and lower the internal temperature two hours before peak usage, AI Saving Mode to analyse user behaviour and adjust cooling performance during low-usage periods.

The new french door model uses LG’s first Thin Door design with both an ice and water dispenser alongside the installation flexibility of the Zero Clearance Hinge.

“LG’s new refrigerator lineup reflects a firm commitment to meaningful innovation, combining outstanding space and energy efficiency with designs that fit seamlessly into modern kitchens,” said Lyu Jae-cheol, president of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company. “We remain focused on developing user-centric technologies that enhance everyday convenience, simplify life at home, and have less impact on the planet.”

As mentioned earlier, these are the new models releasing into the European market but they signal what technologies we will likely receive here in the future.  That being said, we are not sure which models will come here, nor when.
