Could you last 5.5 days on one phone call? Vodafone customer did

These days a phone call longer than five minutes would be a rarity for most people as we move to texting and messaging as a primary form of communication, but one Vodafone customer went to the extreme this year with a phone call lasting over five days!

The telco has released a list of the fifteen longest phone calls of 2025 with the 133 hour call topping the list – even the 15th longest was over 15 hours!

What are these people talking about and who are they talking to?

A Vodafone spokesperson said “There were roughly 11 million calls per day on Vodafone’s network across Australia last year. While unlimited calls and texts are standard across all Vodafone plans, a typical phone call usually lasts a few minutes.

“This spike in longer calls shows an interesting trend and highlights how important it is to have a reliable network when connect with friends and family.

VODAFONE’S TOP 15 LONGEST CALLS OF 2025

STATE LOCATION DATE OF CALL CALL LENGTH
1 South Australia Kilkenny Sunday, 5 January 133 hours
2 Western Australia Morley Central Wednesday, 1 October 116.98 hours

14 Northern Territory Berry Springs Tuesday, 1 July 16.55 hours
15 Tasmania Ravenswood Wednesday, 8 January 15.52 hours

Turns out Sundays are a good day for longer calls (26% of them), with Wednesday and Thursday the next best.

One third of those fifteen calls took place in January!

Honestly, who are these people?

I get there might be a taxi driver or two among them (We’ve all been there right?) but these calls are all longer than the average shift!

I’m perplexed!
